    Boarding pass

Traveling on SAS is getting smoother and easier. And sometimes you don't even need a boarding pass.

You need a printed or digital boarding pass when:

    • You travel using your booking confirmation.
    • More than one traveler in your party has downloaded the trip on the same pass. In this case, each person will need their own boarding pass.
    • Your return trip is from a destination outside of Scandinavia.
    • Your trip continues on another airline.
    • You're traveling to Great Britain or another country that doesn't belong to the Schengen Area.

    • There are 3 ways to get a boarding pass:
      • Download a digital boarding pass
When you check in using the SAS App, text messaging or online, you can download a digital boarding pass on your phone.

      • Print your boarding pass from SAS' website
You can print in black and white or color as long as the bar code is legible. Printed boarded passes are personal and may contain up to four flights.

      • Print your boarding pass at the airport
You can easily print out your boarding pass at a SAS Self-Service Kiosk

    Digital boarding pass

Make your travel even smoother. With a digital boarding pass, all you need is your phone.

    • You can get a digital boarding pass on your phone when you check in using the SAS App, text messaging or online.

    • Just show it at security, duty-free stores, SAS Lounges and at the gate.

You can have up to 4 flights on a digital boarding pass and you can use it on flights:

    • Within Scandinavia and Finland
    • From Scandinavia and Finland to Europe, Asia and the US
    • To Scandinavia from certain destinations

    • If your phone number is in your booking, we'll text you 22 hours before your flight departs. You'll be given 2 options in the text message:
      • Click on the link to go to SAS' website where you can choose your seat, check in and download your digital boarding pass.
      • Answer “yes” to the text message to check in automatically. You'll get another message to confirm. Click on the link in the confirmation message to get your digital boarding pass.

    • We send 1 text message per booking (valid for bookings including up to 6 people) to the main traveler. This person can forward it to the other travelers in the booking.

    • If you haven't provided your phone number in your booking, you can always get a digital boarding card on SAS' website.

    • If you check in using the SAS App, you can find your boarding pass in the app.

    • If you have problems showing your digital boarding pass at the airport, you can always print a new boarding pass at a SAS Self-Service Kiosk or check-in counter.

    • If you're checking in baggage, use your digital boarding pass at a SAS Self-Service Kiosk at the airport to print your bag tags.

    Boarding

The boarding deadline for your flight depends on where you're traveling. But it's always a good idea to get to the gate early so you don't have to rush.

    • For domestic flights and flights within Europe, boarding starts 20 minutes before departure. For trips to/from destinations outside of Europe, boarding starts about 40 minutes before departure.

    • Make sure to give yourself plenty of time.

    • If you’re traveling from Stockholm, Copenhagen or Oslo (coming soon), your boarding pass will show a zone that indicates when it’s your time to board. You’ll be boarded after priority boarding and your turn will be announced at the gate. If you’re a EuroBonus Diamond or Gold member or traveling in SAS Business or SAS Plus, you enjoy priority boarding. Your turn to board will be announced at the gate as zones A and B.
